We had the best time capturing this Abernethy Center wedding, and honestly, from the moment we arrived at Abernethy Center in Oregon City, we knew this day was going to be something special. Megan and Colton brought so much warmth, joy, and genuine love to every single moment, and the venue gave us the most beautiful backdrop to capture it all.

Getting Ready: The Calm Before the Magic
The morning started with Megan getting ready surrounded by her people. Her gown from Bridal Exclusives was stunning, classic and elegant, and the team from Blossom & Beauty had her hair and makeup looking absolutely flawless. There’s always something about those quiet getting-ready moments, the laughter, the happy tears, the last look in the mirror before everything changes, and Megan’s were no different. Colton and his guys were keeping things fun on their side too, which is exactly the energy you want heading into a day like this.
A First Touch to Remember
Megan and Colton chose not to see each other before the ceremony, but that didn’t mean they couldn’t share a moment. At the entrance to the Abernethy Chapel, they stood on either side of the doorway, found each other’s hands, and read their personal vows aloud to one another. No peeking. Just their voices, their words, and that charged, quiet electricity of knowing everything is about to change. It’s one of those alternatives to a traditional first look that we absolutely love, all the emotion and intimacy, with the reveal still fully intact for when Megan walked down the aisle. The Veiled Garden Ceremony
If you’ve never seen Abernethy Center’s Veiled Garden, just know it lives up to the name. Lush greenery, a romantic outdoor setting, and that soft natural light we love so much. With about 50 of their closest family and friends gathered around them, Megan and Colton exchanged their vows, and it was one of those ceremonies where you could feel how much everyone in that space loved this couple.
Portraits & In-Between Moments
After the ceremony, we took wedding party and family portraits. Then we had some time to explore the property with Megan and Colton for newlywed portraits. These are some of our favorite moments of any wedding day, just the two of them, the excitement of being married finally setting in, and us there to capture it all. The venue’s gardens gave us so much to work with, and this couple was just easy to photograph. Genuine smiles, real connection, and a whole lot of happiness.
Reception in the Ballroom
The Abernethy Center Ballroom is a beautiful space, and Megan and Colton’s reception felt like a true celebration. DJ Ken Maul kept the tunes going, and the details, from the florals from Nancy’s Floral to that gorgeous cake from Kyra’s Bake Shop, all came together perfectly. It was exactly the kind of reception where you look around and everyone is just happy, present and enjoying the evening.
Golden Hour Sunset portraits
As the sun was getting lower into the the sky, we snuck outside with the couple to take advantage of the beauty of the venue and surrounding areas once more. Love these golden hour portraits so much. The way the couple relaxed and had fun together as the joy of their day was sinking in, it’s priceless.
The Bubble Exit
At the end of the night the couple enjoyed a special last dance together and then joined their guest on the patio for their grand exit. We love a good bubble exit and Megan & Colton’s crowd did not disappoint in their bubble blowing expertise! Congratulations, Megan & Colton! These photos are just the beginning. This is a story that’s going to be treasured for generations.
